Is it possible we're being too literal?

Do you ever find yourself overthinking stuff that people say?
We're going to assume the answer is "yes" because it happens to us all of the time. Like today when we heard a coworker say "I'm going to go find something to eat."

Who just "finds" something to eat? What, was she going to eat a cheeseburger she found wandering down the street?

Too cute to be scary?

Ever wonder what your mental landscape would be like if it were a real place? We do. We question our mental world often. Given what we post on here, we bet it would be a strange and terrifying place.

Take this picture for an example. This is the product of a random thought one of us had. We leave it to you to guess which one.

And no, it's not just a baby. It's foaming at the mouth. It's rabid. That's right. A rabid baby. We can't explain it.

What does it smell like when she cooks for Rob?

Have you seen this commercial? If not, take a minute now and just watch the first half a minute or so.

So, it seems pretty self explanatory. Sandra's husband or whatever has died and they are making her dinner. But let's break down the initial conversation.

Husband: That smells good.

Wife: Thanks, but it's for Sandra.

Are we the only ones who see that as problematic? Why can't Sandra's food smell good? Does she not like tasty smells? Does Sandra's food need to smell like vomit and cat pee?

Sandra's dinner is ready.

Begin countdown

To begin this post, we need to show you this photo:

These knobs are on the wall of a room in Tartarus. The right hand knob is the air conditioning. We've never given much notice to the left hand knob. Until today. Today we noticed that the hall outside of that room was quite cold. It turned out someone had cranked the air conditioning knob to the max. They had also turned the other knob. And it was ticking. And we couldn't figure out what it was doing.

Mystery knob
As you can see, the knob is labeled "OC". After much speculation, we've decided this must be the Tartarus self-destruct knob. AKA the "oh crap" knob.

As in, "Oh crap, I just set the self-destruct"

Isn't that weird - Dreams

Today, we bring you a new feature that will be showing up occasionally here on Falling Down the Death Stare. We call it Isn't That Weird. In this feature we'll just be sharing weird things, not necessarily Tartarus related.

You know what's weird? Dreams. Your friends Spoof and Speck are known to have some truly bizarre dreams. Just the other day, Speck dreamt about a woman who was made of pie (the woman looked normal-she just asserted that she was in fact made of pie). The subject of this post, though, is Spoof. This weekend Spoof had a dream about work. In the dream, Spoof found a section of carpet covered in broken glass. Trying to be helpful, Spoof knelt down and began to clean up the safety hazard. Then the Hutt swooped in and started yelling "Put that back! Muffin spent a long time laying that glass out."

"It's not safe," said Spoof.

"I don't care. Muffin thought it looked nice. It's very sparkly. The kids will like it."

Don't know about you, but it made us think of this classic SNL skit.
The weirdest part? While the broken glass would never happen, the reaction seemed pretty typical of Tartarus.
